The inner border is attached to the latest Quilt of Valor. The outer border is stitched together, ready to be pinned. With the exception of the cream fabric, all the others are scraps from other Quilts of Valor.
Update on the Gold-Dolinger Project. I have unstitched 18 blocks, reducing them to 9-patches, sewing where needed and squaring up. I’m thinking about a grey/white fabric for sashings. There are a hundred things wrong with these blocks. The only fixes will be to maintain the integrity of the quilt.
Annie Mixon, our local Quilt of Valor representative, commented that some veterans prefer fabrics other than patriotic. If it is acceptable, this quilt will be donated to the Quilts of Valor Program.
