For February, I am digging in to my much loved fat quarters with notions. Yes, I have collected way too many over the years. This will be a small project. February is a busy month and I really want to keep up with Aby and all the participants.
String blocks in need squaring up are also on the mat. These will be samples for the Foothills Quilt Guild to practice with. I would rather students make an oops on the sample block before slicing in to one of their own.
The last item on the mat are juvenile fabrics ready for the Logan Lap Quilt Guild Charity Sew Day on January 19th. These fabrics will make a perfect quilt for a young guest at the Ronald McDonald House. The pattern is Mosaic Quilt and if you have seen any of my charity quilts, you will recognize this. I make mine scrappy and I add a second border. In my opinion, the quilt calls for one more border. The free pattern is on the Studio e website. Look under the fabric line the quilt was designed for, Essentials 9 collection, not the pattern name. It also makes up a great Quilt of Valor.
If your calendar is open on January 19th, bring your machine and join the fun. Logan will meet from 9 AM to 4 PM in the Lourie Center. You can come for part of the day or all day and the guild will even provide a kit for you to sew.
